The Mike Riley Media Literacy Blog
Media. Misinformation. Technology. Culture.
Hello! My name is Michael Riley, and this blog site was created as part of my work in MCO 426: Digital Media Literacy II at Arizona State University, studying Digital Media Literacy coursework, and is now continuing into MCO 427: Misinformation and Society.
Throughout this course, I’ll be exploring, posting, commenting on, and dissecting misinformation in media, as well as how media shapes the way we see the world.
Misinformation has always been a part of the media landscape, but the rise of social media has made it much more widespread. This blog is designed to educate as well as explore the ways information is created and shared and what it means to be an active, critical participant in today’s digital culture.
This blog will serve as both a learning journal and a showcase of my assignments. I’ll be reflecting on key concepts, analyzing examples of digital media, and sharing my insights on how we can better understand and navigate the digital spaces we all interact with daily.
Whether you’re here as part of my class community or just happened to find your way to this page, I invite you to follow along as I dive into the world of digital media literacy. Cheerios and Froot Loops.
